Interactive Brokers coupon code

Up to USD 1,000 in IBKR stock, on the cheapest broker I have used.

Interactive Brokers (IBKR) is a global, low-cost broker, and this page covers the coupon in full: the bonus of up to USD 1,000 in stock, what it actually costs to buy shares, how it compares to DEGIRO, and who it suits. I switched to IBKR recently from DEGIRO for the lower fees.

What the Interactive Brokers coupon gives you

Open an account through the coupon link below and you earn USD 1 in IBKR stock for every USD 300 you add, up to USD 1,000. To qualify you deposit at least USD 10,000 within 30 days and keep the balance for a year.

You can earn up to USD 1,000 in IBKR stock on your new account.

Interactive Brokers referral code

The Interactive Brokers coupon and referral code are the same offer. Open an account through my referral link to earn up to USD 1,000 in IBKR stock.

What it costs to buy shares on IBKR

IBKR is known for rock-bottom commissions, which is exactly why I moved over. For Swiss shares on the SIX exchange the tiered rate is 0.05% of the trade value (0.05% on fixed SmartRouting, 0.10% on direct routing). So a CHF 1,000 order costs roughly CHF 0.50, and only a couple of francs once a small per-order minimum and exchange fees are added, far below traditional Swiss bank trading fees. Verify the current rate for your market on IBKR’s pricing page before you trade.

How to claim the IBKR bonus

  1. Open an account through the coupon link above.
  2. Deposit at least USD 10,000 within 30 days.
  3. Keep the balance for a year.
  4. You earn USD 1 in IBKR stock per USD 300 added, up to USD 1,000.

Who Interactive Brokers is best for

IBKR suits cost-focused and experienced investors who want the widest market access at the lowest commissions, and who do not mind a busier interface. If you want something simpler and friendlier, DEGIRO is easier to live with; to start small and guided, Yuh or Selma fit better.

Interactive Brokers review: pros, cons and personal experience

I moved to IBKR recently from DEGIRO because it is cheaper to buy shares, and on cost it delivers. The honest downside: the dashboard looks cryptic and is not as user-friendly as DEGIRO. I am still finding my way around it, so I would call it the better value but the steeper learning curve.

Pros of Interactive Brokers

  • Very low commissions, cheaper than DEGIRO in my use
  • A huge range of markets and instruments
  • Strong control and depth for serious investors

Cons of Interactive Brokers

  • The dashboard is cryptic and less user-friendly than DEGIRO
  • Steeper learning curve
  • The bonus needs a USD 10,000 deposit, so it suits larger portfolios

Interactive Brokers vs DEGIRO

Having used both, IBKR is cheaper and far deeper, but DEGIRO is noticeably easier to use. If fees are your priority and you will invest larger amounts, IBKR wins; if you want a clean, simple platform, DEGIRO is the friendlier home.
